Why are gi pants the part that wears out?

The bottom half drags across the mat through every pass, sweep and scramble. Even when a jacket lasts years, the knees and seams of the trousers give first. A standalone replacement bottom fixes exactly that.

How is the durability built in?

Ripstop cotton resists tear spread thanks to its grid weave, and a doubled ripstop panel backs each knee. At ~250 GSM the pants stay light enough for fast movement.
