The PHOENIX MMA fight shorts are the black and red walkout pair: a rising phoenix down one leg over a fire-textured hem, red wing feathers and the AUN wordmark on the other, and an orange shield at the thigh. The design is dyed into the fabric rather than printed on top, so it will not crack, peel or fade.

What makes these fight shorts?

A fight short has to let the leg travel. These use a side slit on the outer thigh so you can throw a head kick or bring the knee up without the hem catching, and a wide elastic waistband that holds at the hip without a rigid closure pressing into your back on the ground. The lightweight stretch polyester dries fast and stays out of the way in a scramble.

Can I get them in gym colours?

Yes. Send your gym colours and logo and we rebuild the design around them, with artwork returned for sign-off before production. The minimum order is 10 pairs and sizes can be mixed across the run.

How do I care for them?

Machine wash cold inside out with like colours and hang dry. Do not iron the print, bleach, or tumble dry on high.

What is the difference between MMA fight shorts and board shorts?

Fight shorts are cut for kicking and sprawling. They sit shorter, use a stretch panel or a side slit so the leg can travel, and hold to the waist without a rigid closure digging into you on the ground. Board shorts have none of that and will restrict a head kick.

What is the side slit on the leg for?

It opens the outer thigh so the leg can rise freely for kicks, knees and high guard without the hem catching. It is the simplest way to get full range from a woven short, and it keeps the leg from riding up in a scramble.

Can I use these shorts for BJJ and no-gi grappling?

Yes. They are built for both striking and grappling, so they work for no-gi rounds, wrestling and conditioning as well as MMA. Note that IBJJF competition has its own rules on shorts, so check the current rule set before competing in them.

How do the shorts stay up during a round?

A wide elastic waistband holds the short at the hip without a stiff band pressing into you when you are on your back. Sizes run S to 3XL on the same pattern, so pick your normal waist size.

Will the print survive hard training?

Yes. Sublimation dyes the graphics into the polyester rather than laying a print on the surface, so there is no layer to crack or lift when the fabric stretches or gets gripped. The colours hold through repeated washing.
