Details

The GLACIER women's judo rashguard is a long sleeve base layer cut on a women's pattern: branching cyan graphics across a navy base with solid cyan forearms. The design is sublimated, so the colour sits inside the fibres rather than on top and will not crack, peel or fade.

Why wear a rashguard under your judogi?

Because the jacket is the problem. A judogi is heavy, stiff cotton, and every broken grip drags that weave across your forearms. A long sleeve base layer puts a smooth surface between your skin and the jacket, which is why judoka reach for one during high-volume gripping and randori. It also wicks sweat away instead of letting a cotton jacket hold it against you.

  • Cut on a women's pattern, not a resized men's top.

  • Full-length sleeves against forearm friction from heavy gi cotton.

  • 88% polyester, 12% spandex compression knit, around 220 GSM, opaque under stretch.

  • Flat, non-bulky build that will not bunch under the jacket when gripped.

Is it legal for IJF competition?

No. This one matters for women in particular: IJF contest rules require a plain white or off-white t-shirt or body suit under the jacket, so a printed navy and cyan rashguard will not pass. It is training and randori wear. Keep a plain white top in the bag for contest day and check the current IJF rule set.

Who is it for?

Made for women who train judo regularly and want a base layer on the right pattern rather than a men's small. Same fabric and same graphic as the rest of the GLACIER line.

Can we get it in club colours?

Yes. Send your club colours and crest and we rebuild the design around them, with artwork returned for sign-off before production. The minimum is 10 pieces and you can mix women's and men's patterns in the same run.

How do I care for it?

Machine wash cold inside out with like colours and hang dry. Do not iron the print, bleach, or tumble dry on high.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a women's cut or a unisex rashguard in small sizes?
A women's cut. It is built on a separate pattern with shaping through the bust, a narrower waist and slimmer sleeves, not a men's small with a different label. That is the difference you feel when someone grips the fabric and it stays flat instead of bunching at the chest.
How should a women's rashguard fit?
Snug everywhere, with no loose fabric at the waist or under the arm for a partner to grab. It should not ride up when you raise your arms. Sizes run XXS to XXL on this pattern, so take your normal compression size and size down rather than up if you are between two.
Do I need a sports bra underneath?
Yes, wear your normal training bra under it. A rashguard is a compression layer, not a support garment, and it is not built to replace a bra for impact or support.
Does it go see-through when it stretches?
No. The knit is around 220 GSM, which is heavy enough to stay opaque under stretch, and the print is sublimated into the fibres rather than sitting on top, so it does not thin out where the fabric pulls.
Is long sleeve worth it under the judogi?
Yes. Full sleeves put a smooth layer between your skin and the mat, which cuts mat burn on the forearms and reduces bare-skin contact with a surface the whole room trains on. That is the main reason to choose long sleeve over short.
Can we get it in academy or club colours?
Yes. Send your colours and logo and we rebuild the design around them, then return artwork for sign-off before production. The minimum is 10 pieces per order and sizes can be mixed across the women's and men's patterns in the same run.
