Details
The SOVEREIGN judo rashguard in long sleeve is the black and gold under-gi base layer: gold tribal knotwork running the full length of both sleeves, a dragon motif across the chest and a gold crest emblem on the back. The design is sublimated, so the gold sits inside the fibres rather than on top and will not crack, peel or flake.
Why wear a rashguard under your judogi?
Because the jacket is the problem. A judogi is heavy, stiff cotton, and every broken grip drags that weave across your forearms. A long sleeve base layer puts a smooth surface between your skin and the jacket, which is why judoka reach for one during high-volume gripping and randori. It also wicks sweat away instead of letting a cotton jacket hold it against you.
Full-length sleeves against forearm friction from heavy gi cotton.
Gold tribal knotwork running the length of both sleeves.
88% polyester, 12% spandex compression knit, around 220 GSM.
Flat, non-bulky build that will not bunch under the jacket when gripped.

Is it legal for IJF competition?
No, and it is worth being clear about that. Under IJF contest rules women wear a plain white or off-white t-shirt or body suit under the jacket, and men wear the judogi against the skin. A gold-printed rashguard is training and randori wear. Check the current IJF rule set before a contest.
Who is it for?
Made for judoka who train often enough that gripping has cost them skin, and who would rather not do it in a plain black top. It doubles as a ne-waza and no-gi top, so it earns its place for anyone who trains both standing and on the ground.

It matches the SOVEREIGN judo shorts and the SOVEREIGN judo spats for ne-waza and conditioning. Training in a hot dojo? See the short sleeve. Browse more judo rashguards and judo gear.
Can we get it in club colours?
Yes. Send your club colours and crest and we rebuild the design around them, with artwork returned for sign-off before production. The minimum is 10 pieces and sizes can be mixed across juniors and seniors.
How do I care for it?
Machine wash cold inside out with like colours and hang dry. Do not iron the print, bleach, or tumble dry on high.
