Details
The SOVEREIGN judo shorts are the black and gold version of our judo training short: gold tribal knotwork sweeping up both legs, a gold crest emblem on one thigh and the AUN shield on the other. The design is dyed into the fabric rather than printed on top, so the gold will not crack, peel or flake.
When do judoka actually wear shorts?
Not for randori or contest, where the judogi is the uniform. Shorts are for the rest of the week: warm-ups, uchikomi with bands, strength and conditioning, ne-waza drilling in clubs that run it out of the gi, and the session before and after practice. These are cut for that work, with a soft elastic waistband instead of a rigid closure and a side slit so the knee can travel.
No pockets, zips or belt loops, so nothing catches a finger or toe.
Side leg slit for full hip and knee range.
Soft elastic waistband, comfortable on the ground.
Fully sublimated gold artwork that will not crack or flake.

Can I wear them for a grading or contest?
No. Gradings and IJF contests are fought in a judogi that meets the federation's measurement rules. Treat these as training wear and change into your judogi for randori, gradings and competition.
Who is it for?
Made for judoka whose training week includes real conditioning work, and for clubs who want squad kit with some presence to it. Also a sensible pair for the gym on non-judo days.

Can we get them in club colours?
Yes. Send your club colours and crest and we rebuild the design around them, with artwork returned for sign-off before production. The minimum is 10 pairs and sizes can be mixed across juniors and seniors.
How do I care for them?
Machine wash cold inside out with like colours and hang dry. Do not iron the print, bleach, or tumble dry on high.
