ORCHID Women's BJJ Set, No-Gi Rashguard, Shorts and Spats Spats

The ORCHID women's BJJ spats are full-length no-gi compression tights on a white base, with blue, teal and violet brush strokes running up the outside of each leg, a lilac waistband and the AUN wordmark down the thigh. They are cut on a women's rise rather than a men's pattern. The design is sublimated, so the colour sits inside the fibres and will not crack, peel or fade.

Why wear spats for no-gi?

Spats put a layer between your skin and the mat. That means less mat burn down the shins and knees, and less bare-skin contact with a surface a whole room has been training on, which is the main hygiene argument for wearing them. The 88% polyester, 12% spandex knit has four-way stretch so nothing pulls when you invert or shoot, and flatlock seams sit flat behind the knee where a raised seam would rub.

Are they see-through when they stretch?

This is the question worth asking of any white tight, and the honest answer is that the knit is built for it. At around 220 GSM it is heavier than a yoga legging and stays opaque through a deep squat or a guard pass, and because the print is dyed into the fibres rather than layered on top it does not thin where the fabric pulls. If you want extra reassurance, the matching shorts layer over the top.

Who is it for?

Made for women who train no-gi regularly and want leg cover patterned for them. The brush work runs up the outside of the leg rather than across it, which keeps the line long when you are standing and still reads when you are folded up in guard.

Yes. Send your academy colours and logo and we rebuild the brush work around them, with artwork returned for approval before production. The minimum is 10 pieces and you can mix pieces and sizes within that.

How do I care for them?

Machine wash cold inside out with like colours and hang dry. Do not iron the print, bleach, or tumble dry on high.
